Job Summary:

Raytheon CODEX (Cyber Offense and Defense Experts) division brings together an elite team of mission-focused industry experts who are well known for their ability to overcome the most advanced technical challenges. The team comprises engineers of multiple disciplines including vulnerability research, reverse engineering, CNO/CNE development, hardware emulation, system engineering, and data analytics. Our engineers do more than just work with cutting-edge technology—they ensure the missions succeed for the customers!  CODEX offices span the nation and offer its engineers the ability to advance their careers through mentorship, training, and an expansive technical portfolio that covers every side of cyber.

The candidate will be responsible for testing and developing RF systems in a small team environment. Candidate will have knowledge and experience with RF technologies and techniques including signal processing algorithms, wireless communication standards, modulation techniques, and software-defined radio experience. This includes having hands-on lab experience with RF hardware and testing equipment.

This position is an onsite role.

Relocation Eligible – Relocation assistance available

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Investigating and developing RF technologies and techniques
  • Validating the resulting RF concepts through test, measurement, and characterization in an RF lab environment
  • Assignments will range from initial research and prototyping to full solution development

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Understanding of RF systems including: antennas, power amplifiers, RF circuits, analog circuits, A/D & D/A converters
  • Familiarity with commercial wireless communication standards
  • Understanding of various modulation techniques such as: ASK, PSK, FSK and QAM
  • Knowledge of radio architectures including radio topics such as: PA compression, intermodulation, phase noise, harmonics, products, LO leakage, etc.
  • Familiarity with RF hardware and testing equipment: spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power amplifiers, filters, and open/closed RF networks
  • Solid foundation in DSP and Communication Theory
  • Proficient in C, C++, Python, Matlab
  • Good problem solving, prioritization, planning skills, highly motivated and result-focused
  • An active DoD clearance is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing, building, or working with RF communication hardware systems
  • Experience developing communication system components for SDR systems, including waveform development, DSP design, wireless protocol layers, and hardware abstraction layer integration for common SDR frameworks like GNURadio
  • Experience in RF vulnerability research, signal identification, classification, and reverse engineering methods for wireless communication signals and protocols
  • Experience designing and developing automated testbeds to analyze performance of communication and networking technologies/systems
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipeline Platforms
