Job Summary:
Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions – from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors – to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat. Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt.
As a Ground System Software Engineer, you have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. Our small agile teams adapt to evolving customer and warfighter needs.
We are seeking software engineering professionals to work onsite in our Aurora, CO location.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Perform object-oriented software development.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Typically requires bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
-
5-8 years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to Software Engineering, development, and implementation.
-
3-5 years of experience with object-oriented software development using a combination of Python and C++ in a Linux environment
-
Hands-on working knowledge of software tools which should include some of the following: Eclipse, Pycharm, Junit, Artifactory, Confluence, Cucumber, Eggplant, Gherkin, Jenkins, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Jira, Gradle, and Git

Simulation experience
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Working knowledge of the following: PNT and JPL interfaces, unite and automated functional testing.

Experience developing APIs (REST, JSON, SOAP)

Previous work with satellite ground system software or satellite GPS software desirable but not necessary

Experience with one or more areas of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.

This position is onsite at our campus in spectacular Aurora, CO. The campus is surrounded by 91 miles of walking and hiking trails, including the nearby High Line Canal Trail. The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
