We are looking for a buyer to join our Mission Systems direct procurement team. The ideal candidate will have experience using SAP to support low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments, preferably within Aerospace & Defense.
To succeed in this position, you will need to build successful relationships with external suppliers, internal customers, and supply chain colleagues. This role will involve a high level of multitasking and balancing multiple priorities.
This position will sit at our Santa Isabel, PR location and can be worked remotely, within Puerto Rico. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Request and review quotes, both competitive and sole-sourced
- Release purchase orders efficiently, including cases with documentation requirements and approval levels.
- Buy components across multiple commodities to support all stages of product life cycles.
- Work closely with colleagues in procurement to ensure successful supplier management and execution in supporting program needs and requirements.
- Analyze material availability and report out to internal customers, communicating clearly and working proactively to address shortages.
- Collaborate with supply chain quality engineers to ensure product quality, including communicating defects to suppliers and arranging for returns/rework.
- Respond to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications you must have:
- Typically requires bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
Qualifications We Value:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field
- 1-2 years relevant work experience in Supply Chain
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Experience to effectively manage job responsibilities in a virtual environment with minimal supervision.
- Experience in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)
