Role Overview:

This candidate will utilize their experience in the development and deployment of a plant-wide lean culture, including problem-solving, visual management, Lean process development, and Lean training. Partner with Plant Leadership team to establish a customer-based improvement strategy, which drives safety, customer responsiveness, lead time reduction quality improvement, and cost reductions in line with business/functional objectives.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Teach, promote, and practice the lean principles and tools to drive performance improvements and minimize waste within manufacturing processes
  • Work cross functionally to achieve success and support site level improvement targets and macro plan milestones
  • Collaborate vertically and horizontally across the business to increase throughput, decrease days to manufacture and improve efficiency
  • Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
  • Create Standardized Work Instructions, layouts, and process flow diagrams Coach teams in Problem Solving through the define, analyze, root cause, and countermeasure phases

Qualifications / Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication / presentation skills, Comfortable working directly with wage labor and executive leadership
  • Demonstrated success in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management
  • Achieving results through other team members and suppliers.  Drive for action and quality focused
  • Must be a highly motivated, proactive, self-directed worker
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS Industrial Engineering
  • A working-knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Value Stream Mapping, Standard operating procedures, Root-Cause Analysis and Set-Up Reduction/Mistake-Proofing is preferred
  • Experience leveraging influencing, interpersonal, communication, analytical and problemsolving skills to drive results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong facilitation and organization skills
