Job Summary:

The RF Range Operator will work with a team of engineers performing electrical tests and troubleshooting on antennas and antenna assemblies for conformance to specifications. The candidate will apply the theory of operation for the unit under test to enable determination of faulty product for design, workmanship, environmental and/or component defects. Additionally, the candidate will work on systems validation, test, and analysis, while working through all phases of development and integration within engineering labs.

This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Operate an Antenna Measurement Range.
  • Managing, scheduling, troubleshooting, and operating antenna measurement test ranges.
  • Perform preliminary analysis on antenna range test results against conformance specifications.
  • Help the customer generate test plans that will be conducted on the antenna range.
  • Integration, test, and validation activities.
  • Document and present findings to team members.

                                                                                

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and less than of 2 years of prior relevant experience to include any combination of the following:
    • Experience with RF fundamentals, such as the RF electro-magnetic spectrum, propagation delay, and RF components.
    • Experience with antenna measurement patterns and how antennas work.
    • Experience with decibels (dB’s) and / or dBm values with respect to equivalent power levels in Watts.
    • Experience with system level link budgets.
    • Experience with transmit and receive polarization.
    • Experience with acquisition of RF certifications to back up the knowledge and understanding of the RF electro-magnetic spectrum, propagation delay, link budgets, and RF components such as antennas, amplifiers, and RF switches.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
