RESS Electrical Customer Contact Lead

Job Description

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Factory Zero on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The RESS Electrical Customer Contact Lead will be responsible for specifying requirements, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of major engineering projects. They will support vehicle engineering in the implementation of the Quality Requirements, where creativity and initiative will be involved. RESS Electrical Customer Contact Lead will need to exercise technical direction over other specialists or engineering support personnel.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Monitor consistency to Global Metric Definitions and Performance

  • Maintain documentation of Launch Manufacturing Quality Readiness Reviews

  • Actively participate in Plant Quality Manager Meetings & Launch Quality Manager Meetings

  • Manage projects as requested from Quality Shop Director. Proficiency and knowledge of the elements of the GM Quality System / GMS BIQ and of the Quality Launch Plan

  • Proficiency and knowledge of the requirements in the Global Quality Manual

  • Ability to coach, teach and audit elements of GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ Principle and Elements

  • Managerial Courage to provide direct, honest, constructive feedback to Plant Staffs / Executive Leadership in a subtle and professional manner

  • Present the Assembly Plant and Engineering Staff with clear problem definition, technical mentorship on complex problems, and regular updates on progress

  • Support Launch of new products in the plant when applicable

  • Maintain updates to Quality Requirements and deviations from plants

  • Maintain Cost of Quality reports by Plant

Additional Job Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Minimum 3 years’ Quality Engineering or similar experience within a Manufacturing Environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or electrical field or equivalent experience

  • Ability to read Electrical Schematics and blueprints

  • Ability to travel around 10%of the time throughout North America

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification

  • Experience working in a BIQ certified plant

  • Leadership experience

  • Current RedX certification

  • Experience working with RESS battery packs
