We are looking for a Production Associate in Conventional Machinery to join our team!

Reporting to the Sr. Supervisor, Mechanical Production. The Production Associate will deburr mechanical components as well as operate machines and maintain specifications outlined by the operation sheet and mechanical drawings, ensuring that the operations are safe, and product quality is achieved.

Requirements/Key Competencies

  • Set up and use hand tools to remove burrs from machined parts.
  • Visually inspect parts for burrs and imperfections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within work area.
  • Measure and gauge parts to insure quality is adhered to.
  • Operate basic conventional machinery such as drill presses, speed lathes and sawing machines.
  • Maintains adherence and diligence to specifications and work instruction packages.
  • Completing paperwork to support inspection and quality requirements.
  • Metal working experience is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Capable of completing assigned task according to established written/verbal instructions.
     

Education and Technical Requirements:

  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma - Grade 12
  • Technical ability to read blue prints, sketches, interpret drawings and geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of various pieces of basic metrology equipment. (Calipers, gauges, micrometers. etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand work instruction packages.
  • Effectual interpersonal leadership and communications skills.
  • Accountability to stay motivated and resilient even when faced with inevitable delays, setbacks and policy shifts.
  • Able to spend prolonged amounts of time sitting, handling parts and tools.
  • Required to perform shift work as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow rules and regulations, complying with all Environmental, Health, & Safety Organizational Directives and Instructions and all other Site Directives and Company Policies.
