As a Principal Systems Engineer for Datalinks Technologies supporting products for the Space, you will be part of a multi-functional team comprised of System engineers, FPGA, Software, and Hardware engineers. 

*Sign on bonus up to $40,000 for active security clearance holders and up to $17,500 for non-clearance holders.

Primary Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities of this position include leading engineering systems efforts throughout the   system lifecycle, including subsystem requirements analysis, definition, and validation; systems and card level integration and requirements verification testing; effective technical collaboration among systems, hardware and software design functions; assisting in resolving technical problems that cross functional domain areas of hardware and software; and supporting customer platform integration. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. 

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR  

  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required  

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have a current U.S. DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.  

  • Ability to travel  

  • Key member of engineer teams in past assignments.  Collaborative approach to working in a team required.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with transitioning terrestrial products to a space environment, space environment effects (radiation, vacuum, etc.), and waveform modifications for space environment (Doppler & timing corrections) are desirable. 

  • Familiar with Software Defined Radios (SDRs), Open Architecture methodologies, software systems, and communications network architectures.  

  • Prior successes in bid and pursuit work under a government acquisition model 

  • Fluent in systems lifecycle development phases, and experience in each 

  • Experience working with and testing embedded hardware and software  

  • Familiarity with engineering development in an agile environment.
