Job Summary: 

This role is the Program Director of the Precision Strike portfolio which includes Paveway®, Griffin, HARM, and Maverick programs. This role reports to the Executive Director of Domain Awareness and Precision Strike (DAPS) Sub Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) within the Air Power Strategic Business Unit (SBU). The Precision Strike Program Director will manage a complex portfolio of programs across various life cycles with a very broad customer set both domestically and internationally.

  
You will be responsible for execution of a diverse set of programs to include development, new production, depot and refurbishment, sustainment, engineering services, and aircraft integration. A critical element of this role will include driving new business. This includes strategic expansion of platform integration, continued product sales internationally, and shaping domestic customers procurement levels and/or divestiture timing. A significant portion of the portfolio is international business across Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract types, therefore shaping international customers is a large focus of the role. International travel will be required.

Due to the diversity and complexity of this portfolio, setting a strategic vision for both new business and the strategy of execution will be required. The Program Director must be able to communicate this strategic vision to internal and external stakeholders. You will lead a very talented team with a strong, positive program culture. It will be important that the Program Director continues that positive program culture.

This role is hybrid located in Tucson, Arizona and requires domestic and international travel to support new business shaping, along with maintaining strong customer partnerships in existing contract execution.

Responsibilities to Anticipate: 

  • Drive new bookings for product sales and manage the many new business captures across the team
  • Develop strategic roadmaps for the future of Griffin, HARM, Maverick, and Paveway and operationalize the strategy
  • Manage the starts and stops in various production lines to ensure strong staffing profiles to support the future business
  • Create a roadmap for inventory consumption and risk mitigation plans
  • Execute on current offset projects, as well as partner with the Global Offset team to identify new projects to meet obligations
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, develop controls and reports that accurately measures progress, identify potential problems in time for corrective action to be taken, and ensure the timely delivery of contractual commitments 
  • Establish and maintain key program metrics, define program milestones/critical path/tactical direction and performance to program budgets and schedules
  • Develop strategies, manufacturing plans/roadmaps, long-term supplier agreements, and advancement of next generation technology

Basice Qualifications: 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum 14 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience
  • Experience to include producing results in Program Management or Business Growth
  • Customer relationship management experience
  • Experience managing risk, cost, quality, and/or schedule performance
  • Leadership experience leading a team
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  
Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Experience in production programs 
  • Capture and proposal depth
  • Program Management Level 3 Certified or ability to achieve certification within 1 year
  • Strong background with business growth
  • International business experience with FMS and DCS contract knowledge
  • Missile production program experience
  • Proven track record of customer relationship building and partnership 
  • Leadership experience to include developing and mentoring others 
  • Experience and demonstrated success managing change, building teams in a matrixed organization 
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning and ability to analyze and evaluate missions, requirements, technologies and capabilities 
  • Demonstrated complex program execution experience managing program staffing, assignments and resources 
  • Strong proficiency in partnering in matrixed organizations such as finance, contracts, engineering, and supply chain 
  • Strong proficiency in developing and presenting Strategic Plans, AOP, Technology Roadmaps, and planning to senior management, and responsibility for executing approved plans 
  • Ability to manage, track and report metrics and progress through EAC reviews and management reviews with internal and customer leadership
  • Ability to focus, evaluate, motivate and reward the teams, enabling them to achieve desired results
