Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney’s Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to lead projects for New Product Introductions and have responsibility for manufacture of experimental engine hardware. This position offers the opportunity to work on some of the newest products and manufacturing technologies being designed and developed at Pratt & Whitney.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate selected will be responsible for planning and development of manufacturing processes for new experimental engine hardware and in some cases phasing these products into production.
  • Responsible for working with new product design engineers during conceptual design phase through detail design and ultimately initial hardware manufacture. NPI ME will utilize MRL tools to ensure product design meets cost and producibility goals while still meeting program and design requirements.
  • Support of experimental hardware manufacture will be both within P&W and at selected development suppliers.
  • Creation of master planning summary, tool planning, design and tryout, creation of work instructions, development of new process technologies, first piece tryout and delivery of development parts to meet program schedules.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering. In lieu of degree, 8 years of manufacturing engine experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to multi-task and adapt to changing business needs and priorities and work within a high- pressure environment in a professional manner.
  • Machining processes, process planning and development.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • New product introductions, rotating hardware, IBRs/Blisks, fan/compressor airfoils, new capital equipment projects, continuous improvement projects, MRL (manufacturing readiness levels) and project leadership.
