WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

We are looking for Senior Leaders in Virtual Engineering to join us and lead vehicle or system programmes with concept simulation, modelling expertise and tools from research thru to the delivery phase to JOB1.

 

Working as part of a Body CAE team of simulation engineers and lead, this role will develop modelling tools , processes and vehicle safety occupant environment for side impact.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the development of Automotive Components/Systems using engineering knowledge and experience combined with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques, to meet side impact occupant performance targets at Vehicle and Sled levels
  • Run CAE analysis, summarise results and feedback conclusions to the component Lead Engineers in an efficient manner.
  • Able to work effectively with design teams to develop and optimise solutions considering multi-attributes within defined deadlines and time constraints
  • Have some product knowledge and awareness of potential design constraints (packaging, manufacturing etc.) and ensure due consideration is given in developing solutions for side occupant assessments
  • Coordinate and lead projects and teams including the feedback of results as required through design / project reviews
  • Support and present at design reviews with key stakeholders: COC component design teams, PAT teams, packaging teams

 

WHAT YOU NEED

 

  • Side occupant experience and good working knowledge of E-NCAP, US NCAP , NHTSA and other markets requirements
  • Far-Side modelling experience and knowledge
  • Working knowledge of CAE methodologies
  • Previous experience and background in solving complex technical ideas and challenges
  • Previous experience of crash & safety component/system level development using CAE to meet defined performance targets
  • Competent in the use of
    • Ls_Dyna , Oasys , Hyperworks , DOE’s and Ls-Opt(or other optimisation tools)
