Pratt & Whitney’s (P&W) Digital Technology – Service Excellence has a rare opportunity for a highly motivated individual to be the Infrastructure Lead for our sites in Lansing, MI, Middletown, NY, Middletown, PA, and Clayville, NY. 

The main objective is to serve as the single point of contact for infrastructure-related services.  The services will range from site specific to enterprise led initiatives and will require collaboration with local management team, vendors, and other Digital Technology teams.

This is an ONSITE role, and the primary location for the candidate can be at any of the sites listed above, however, regular travel will be required to the other sites where this individual is not based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for all IT Infrastructure components at the site; including desktops, servers, storage, WAN, and LAN.
  • Work with approved vendors to deliver world-class infrastructure services to all employees & contractors at the site.
  • Deliver local infrastructure projects on time and on budget.
  • Be a self-starter, able to work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure that the site complies with laws, industry best practices, Raytheon Technologies and Pratt & Whitney policies, and architectural standards.
  • Fully document all work performed. Facilitate local audits and ensure corrective actions are completed on time.
  • Work with business partners to design specific solutions that meet the needs of the local business.
  • Act as an escalation point for any infrastructure issues.
  • Provide in-depth root cause analysis when necessary.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required.
  • The position requires strong teamwork and communication, and collaboration with site management, outsourced IT partners, customers, security, compliance officials and other members of the DT organization. A strong desire to continue to learn and remain on the forefront of relevant technologies is essential.
  • Site health - Establish, monitor, remediate key infrastructure KPIs.
  • DT advocate / champion / coordinator for enterprise infrastructure initiatives/deployments (Zoom, O365, etc).
  • Sponsor & oversight of local DT contractors.
  • Travel is approximately 25-50%.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Information Technology Service Management, with 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure Support; OR an Advanced degree with 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Support.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management/ITIL certifications a plus.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow, or other similar Service Desk tools.
  • Experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Project Management certifications with a history of delivering IT projects on time and on budget, and the ability to recognize areas for process improvement.
  • Excellent customer service skills required providing a high level of service to satisfy/fulfill internal or external needs accurately in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate business needs and interpret high level business requirements, and liaise between business customers, technology teams and support teams.
  • Experience generating documentation, standard work policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced environment, able to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Highly self-directed and able to learn quickly with a solid ability to drive and deliver results.
  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, examples of effective teamwork, a track record of consistently meeting deadlines and due dates.
  • Superb communication skills, written and verbal, with ability communicate in a clear and concise manner across various levels of the organization.
  • Executive presentation experience and comfortable interacting with senior executive leadership. Lead, facilitate and manage change effectively.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
