Job Summary:
- Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking talented students to join our organization in an internship capacity. This internship position is within Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Georgia - Columbus Forge team.
- The intern will be mentored by the Columbus Forge Supervisors and will engage in the duties listed below:
- This is a 2nd shift position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Tool Support – Assist in maintenance duties to complete equipment diagnostics and repairs, to complete documentation of parts and usage, and to assist the Material Receiving & Ordering specialist.
- Clean – Assist in cleaning of equipment and components.
- Assist with visual checks and measurements to assess equipment condition for proper operation. Understand the basic inspection techniques as a part of a career development path.
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and continuous improvement programs by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
- Ability to manage tools and tooling to ensure serviceability before and after use and process appropriately when issues arise.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in High School
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrolled in the Certified Manufacturing or Machining Program at Columbus Technical School or a local area High School
- Machining or Vocational training
Additional Information:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
