Job Summary:
The Systems Effectors: Processing, Guidance & Control Center is responsible for algorithm development including Guidance, Navigation, and Control; radio frequency (RF) and electro-optical/infrared (EO-IR) Signal Processing; and missile-and-sensor-level Modeling and Simulation for Raytheon's broad portfolio of projects, programs and products. In the GNC department, we design, integrate, and optimize guidance, navigation, state estimation, and control algorithms to meet mission objectives. We support new business initiatives and help develop & execute technology roadmaps.
The GNC Department is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to perform in the role of GNC Performance Product Owner for Air Dominance.
This position is located in our Tucson, AZ location. This position is an onsite role.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- As the GNC Performance Product Owner for the program, you will be responsible for identifying, designing, and executing studies to stress and evaluate brand new system capabilities that will use to inform design refinements and development.
- You will define and execute system performance studies to ensure integrating new capabilities do not harm existing system performance.
- You will offer experience and guidance to help the program spin up, train new engineers, and execute efficiently and effectively.
- You will work with embedded software including real-time GNC algorithm development for missiles system products.
- You will support missile performance analysis including model development, system optimization, and Monte Carlo assessments with expected system disturbances.
- Selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain special access program clearance
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of Guidance, Navigation and/or Controls related engineering experience.
- Experience with system performance within GNC discipline
- Experience with Matlab, C, C++, and/or Object Oriented design
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Unix and/or Linux operating systems
- Experience supporting activities leading to flight test such as IFS and CIL performance analysis, ensuring compliance to performance metrics prior to software release.
- Experience supporting missile and captive flight tests, providing real-time and post-mission navigation system performance analysis.
- Ability to facilitate and coordinate activities across multiple facilities and locations.
- Results-oriented work ethic and able to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines.
- Capture effort coordination and developing proposals to obtain funding, spanning technical proposal development, work breakdown structures and cost estimation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team
- Proficient in host aircraft interface and integration, as well as the modeling and simulation of this data
