Summary:

The successful candidate will be a member of a small team providing facility support to multiple buildings. This position is hands-on, requiring a broad range of maintenance skills to perform routine maintenance activities and critical repairs. Duties will include, but are not limited to, providing facility improvement solutions, maintaining the operation (mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural) of the building, oversight of subcontractors, performing routine inspections, and ensuring a safe work environment. The position requires a candidate who is self-motivated and demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and assist in the coordination of on-site contractors to perform outsourced maintenance activities.
  • Perform a variety of maintenance duties involved in the repair and mainten-ance of buildings and facilities to include:
  • Plumbing repairs on toilets, sinks, urinals, faucets and water fountains.
  • Interior and exterior patching and painting of the facilities.
  • Electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and repairing ballast and light fixtures.
  • Assembly and moves furniture, hang pictures and white boards.
  • Perform any other task as assigned for the safety and functionality of facility and grounds.
  • Repair and replacement of doorknobs or locks, repairs door closures.
  • Notify management of any indoor/outdoor items that may pose a danger to employees, tenants, or visitors.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections.

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
  • Must have broad working knowledge of electrical and mechanical trades.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing and equipment repair or replacement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of machinery, equipment and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of buildings.
  • Familiar with facilities electrical and mechanical drawing.
  • Must be able to fulfill the physical demands of essential job functions of the job: able to climb a ladder, climb stairs, work underneath raised floor, and the ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate forklift and man lift.
  • Must be able to withstand frequent standing, walking, and repeatedly lifting objects with heavier weight necessary at times and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
  • Must be reliable and punctual, with the ability to be on call for after-hours emergency response.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints.
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driver’s license.
