FACILITIES AND MAINTENANCE OFFICER
As a Facilities and Maintenance Officer you will have a broad range of responsibilities and a key role ensuring Christchurch Engine Centre employees and visitors are safe while on site and all facilities are functional and well maintained. Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) matters and compliance will be an important part of your daily work. While paying close attention to quality, compliance, and safety, you will also track and control cost of maintenance services and materials.
In this role you will have the chance to combine your exceptional organisational and administrative expertise with good communication and interpersonal skills. This role is perfect for someone who is willing to learn, develop and grow with the role.
YOUR ROLE
- Receive and process facilities maintenance request using an internal online tool
- Administrate and support contractor selection and maintain up-to-date contractor records
- Communicate with contractors including contractor pre-evaluation, induction, job safety analysis and reporting
- Environment, Health & Safety: Processing permits (such as working in confined spaces), organising, and running EH&S inductions for contractors, conducting job safety assessments, ensuring compliance on site
- Monitor contractor activities, keep records and evaluate performance
- General administration such as supporting visitor tracking, processing invoices and purchase orders and tracking cost
- Ensuring compliance with Environment, Health and Safety rules, policies and procedures on site
- Ensuring that correct PPE is issued and is being used by staff and visitors.
YOUR PROFILE
- Very good administrative and organisational skills with great attention to details
- Experience in contractor management
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good computer skills: MS Office is necessary, and SAP would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety procedures and willingness to attend further training
- Flexibility and ability to work with a variety of topics
- Proactive mindset and able to take initiative
- Willing to learn and develop
- A certificate in facilities or project management would be an asset
