Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney Military Engines F135 Field Operations is seeking a Depot Engine Manager (DEM) to represent P&W at Edwards AFB, CA in the high visibility, team-oriented environment of F135 Intermediate Level jet engine maintenance depot.  Our engine shop at Edwards AFB repairs F-35 Joint Strike Fighter afterburning turbofan engines. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The DEM will document and maintain part/module/engine maintenance history in the Maintenix database (similar to CEMS), to include but not limited to component replacement, inspection completion and findings, Time Compliance Technical Directive (TCTD) compliance, and on-condition maintenance.
  • Assemble engine/module work packages, conduct propulsion system pre/post-maintenance meetings with internal stakeholders at the respective start and completion of maintenance.
  • Responsible to create, maintain, and comply with local Work Step Instructions as required for all tasks specific to location. 
  • Team with other P&W on-site personnel to achieve Program, Environmental Health & Safety, Employee Fulfillment, and ACE Quality goals and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree with a minimum of 5 years of Engine Manager Experience (JEMMA, CEMS,IMIS), is preferred. Or, Associate’s degree or 2 years post-high school or training and 9 years of direct Engine Manager Experience (JEMMA, CEMS,IMIS) is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must be a United States citizen.  Must be able to obtain and maintain US DoD SECRET security clearances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience applying strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead or facilitate teams to achieve successful results.
  • Process or manufacturing experience, or hands-on assembly/disassembly experience on gas-turbine engines and operational experience in a Maintenance/Repair/Overhaul engine facility is a definite plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 176,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
