We are currently seeking knowledge of the local environment witha specialization in legal compliance and waste management, ensuring that our operations meet both local and international environmental standards.

Who will you report to?

The position is located at the Volvo Car Kosice plant and the main reporting line leads to Environmental Manager.

What will you do?

  • Securing the environment in early phases of a project/change, e.g. prescriptions and KPIs related to waste management;
  • Securing prerequisites for compliance with legal and other requirements, e.g. including permits and monitoring program
  • Ensuring the prerequisites for the implementation and maintenance of the system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001;
  • Securing the implementation of environmental instructions within the operations;
  • Securing identification, evaluation and management of environmental aspects;
  • Develop and implement waste management strategies;
  • Identify opportunities for waste reduction and cost savings;
  • Conducting audits on waste management and analyze data; Review and providing input for efficiency roadmap, scorecards and masterplan;
  • Identifying and assessing activities that can cause an environmental emergency;
  • Securing coordination and needed actions in case of an environmental accident including reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Global Environmental team to integrate sustainable practices into daily operations;
  • Contributing to the fulfillment of company and site environmental targets;
  • Educate and train colleagues on environmental policies and best practices.

What will you bring?

  • Several years of previous working experience in waste management within an industrial or manufacturing setting, preferably in an international company;
  • Preferred university educationin Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field;
  • Strong understanding of local and international environmental regulations;
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental Management System according to ISO 14001;
  • Demonstrated flexibility, being able to work under an organization in a transformation period, or green-field project;
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, conversational in English, written and spoken, and proficient in Slovak language;
  • Not only an individual contributor attitude but also a demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team, influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;

Monthly gross salary for this position starts from 2.250 EUR.

* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to the monthly salary, there is also a 13th salary paid in an aliquot amount and a performance bonus depending on the company's financial results and individual performance.
