Who will you report to?

The position is located at the Volvo Car Kosice plant and the main reporting line leads to Plant Engineering Strategy Manager.

What will you do?

You will utilize strong manufacturing engineering mindset and previous experience in the manufacturing industry to take ownership of the plant’s strategic work relating to efficiency and capacity, which means that you will plan, prioritize, and steer long-term activities to drive the improvements from startup to a stable world-class running production.

By defining and understanding what is strategically important for the plant, you will influence and ensure that future process changes and products are in line with our long-term vision. To ensure that our long-term vision always is present in our daily business you will drive forecasts and analytical models for productivity improvements,

measure

current performance against the plan, and facilitate the development of the plant efficiencyand manning control process all in close cooperation with shop/plant management team.

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and improving plant efficiencyrelated KPI's;
  • Forecasting and planning of plant headcountfigures and needs;
  • Coordinating the manning and efficiency process for plant including target setting and follow up;
  • Evaluating and recommending plant manning targets accordingto volume/mix/shift regimes;
  • Keeping track of headcount savings and facilitating to reach headcount saving target;
  • Coaching all shops/departmentto perform plant/shop/line level efficiency performance analysis and addressing opportunities for improvement;
  • Developing of work processes and standards e.g. IT tools, systems, templates within plant/shop engineering.
  • Securingglobal collaboration and with counterparts in other plants;
  • Driving collaboration networks related to efficiency and capacity within the plant.
  • Maintaining capacity restraints for each shop and for the plant;
  • Giving plant input and analyze impact for cycle & volume plans;
  • Leading all Capacity Increase Request (CIR) investigations.

What will you bring?

  • Preferred university education in Mechanical/Mechatronic, Manufacturing, Automation, Electrical, or related field;
  • Several years of previous working experience in a similarrole in a highly automated industrial environment, preferably OEM;
  • Extensive knowledge of methods, tools, processes, production systems, and ways of working in automotive production;
  • Extensive collaboration, networking, and argumentation skills but also deep knowledge of process design;
  • Curious and an entrepreneurial approach, ability to find ways to overcome challenges;
  • Being fluent in English, both written and spoken, while Slovak language skills will be a preferred merit;
  • Demonstrated flexibility, being able to work under an organization in a transformation period, or green-field project;
  • Excellent problem-solving, and analytical skills;
  • Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, conversational in English (written and spoken), while Slovaklanguage skills will be a preferred merit;
  • Not only an individual contributor attitude but also a demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team, influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
  • Ability and willingness to travel within and outside Europe, more frequently in the initial phase (2024), although based in Kosice, Slovakia.

Monthly gross salary for this position starts from 2.700 EUR.

* The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job. Final salary is negotiable and will be adjusted in accordance with seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to the monthly salary, there is also a 13th salary paid in an aliquot amount and a performance bonus depending on the company's financial results and individual performance.
