Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain Master Parts List (MPL) on time with quality.
  • Interpret most complex Engineering information and convert into compound model/option usage statements - Vehicle Description Summary (VDS) interpretation.
  • Escalate any requested process deviations to quickly resolve.
  • Release the MPL with such quality that it is never the cause of assembly plant, accessories, service, or pre-production issues.  If issues arise, participate in determining and documenting root cause analysis and composing corrective action.
  • Improve “first time quality” on all Engineering releases by exhibiting honesty in reporting internal issues using Spec Corrections Work Orders.
  • Eliminate release issues impacting assembly plants, accessories, service, and pre-production operations by releasing correct parts and running cross balance/audit reports to assure quality.
  • Ensure releases are correct by performing audits that occur throughout the development of the MPL & ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Understand and follow workshare agreements as outlined/documented for completeness for correct release ownership.
  • Identify and grow core Engineering releasing competencies (ECM, gmLogic, GPDS, VDS, Cross Balance, APM and Engineering Release Reference Materials).  Develop knowledge of VDS/MPL/Pre-production related processes.
  • Achieve DFSS Green Belt and Black Belt Certification.
  • Work with global teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Encourage the use of best practices and share lessons learned.
  • Ensures high quality, on time completion of tasks.
  • Assists DREs with high complex engineering release demands.

Additional Job Description

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronic Engineering.
  • Active CREA.
  • Advanced level in English.
