Electrical Engineer II - ASIC/FPGA Mission Systems  

This position is for a motivated Electrical or Computer engineering candidate to be involved in the design, implementation, verification, and integration of a wide variety of high-performance digital ASICs and FPGAs applied to signal processing and information assurance products across Mission Systems on the Embedded Platforms & Advanced Packaging Solutions team.   

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Capture

  • ASIC / FPGA digital architecture and design using RTL

  • Verification

  • System integration.  

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog 

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, team with engineers of a variety of skills and backgrounds, and matrix into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to document and present one's work and status 

  • Experience with debugging and root cause investigations on hardware using hardware schematics, integrated FPGA vendor debug tools, and digital lab equipment 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR 

  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required 

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements  

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience using ASIC and/or FPGA design tools (e.g. Modelsim, Quartus, Vivado or other FPGA-specific tools) 

  • Digital circuit architecture and resource tradeoffs 

  • Some background in signal processing and/or information assurance 

  • Familiarity with the signal processing system simulation & analysis tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink) 

  • Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion)
