Collins Aerospace is looking for an entry Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Avionics Hardware team participating in the development of various Panels and Display Hardware for Commercial Air Transport as well as Business Regional customers.  This exciting opportunity will allow the ideal candidate to join our growing team of engineers designing state-of-the-art, industry-leading Multi-function Keyboard Panel, Control Display Units and Adaptive Flight Displays.  This position offers the opportunity to expand knowledge and skills of all phases of hardware development with requirement capture, design, integration, verification, factory transition, collateral support and customer interface.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Requirements capture and review, and verification.

  • Performing limited project engineering tasks such as providing project status to engineering management and recommending product-line improvement priorities to the product-line manager.

  • Coordinating with application engineers and suppliers to determine root-cause and corrective actions of component failures.

  • Designing and oversight for analog and digital schematics of circuit card layouts, and optimization for production efficiency.

  • Collaborating with manufacturing test engineers to develop production test software and hardware solutions.

  • Oversight of DO-160 EMI and environmental testing.

  • Creating and oversight of DO-254 certification artifacts for Airborne Electronic Hardware.

  • Updating electrical designs for parts obsolescence and new technology insertion.

  • Engineering analysis of basic to complex electrical designs.

  • Preparing artifact submittals for Rockwell Collins product (TSO & PMA) and system (STC) airworthiness approvals to support global business objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)

  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
