WHAT TO EXPECT

 

As an Electric Drive Project Management Engineer, this is the opportunity to help define and deliver the next generation of JLR Electric Drive Units, to be manufactured in-house and form the heart of future Jaguar and Land Rover zero-emission electric vehicle powertrains.

 

You will be a central point of integration within the advanced EDU group, working with the group Product Owner to bring together concepts from the advanced E-machines, Inverters, transmission, and thermal systems teams to create and validate the EDU at a whole-system level.  The central responsibility for this position is the project planning and documentation for the Next generation EDU project, ensuring transparent and complete reporting both internally and to external funding bodies and technical partners.   This is a broad-based role in a growing team with opportunities to work on a variety of business, technical and organisational objectives.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Working in the project management team to shape and deliver this major project, applying Agile development methods to maximise value and shorten innovation validation time.

  • Ensuring team discipline on Customer, Technical and business objectives evidence and working practices.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation to improve customer experience, efficiency or quality.

  • Help generate Strategic Roadmap and functional definition for future EDU technologies

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Project planning and documentation experience

  • Experience of working on integration of complex Systems

  • Working knowledge in electric drives, e-machines, inverters, or related systems

  • Experience in system analysis and validation, working with design/performance modelling via CAE methods. Direct experience of CAE  tools such as Simulink / AMESim / GTcool etc.

  • A broad based appreciation of the innovation to industrialisation to customer value delivery chain and a methodical, engineering principles approach to balancing complex requirement sets
