Pratt & Whitney East Hartford Repair Operations (EHRO), Connecticut Stators and Components (CTSC) team is seeking a highly motivated and capable individual to be a Co-Op Process Engineer (PE) in support of Commercial and Military Engine programs. This is a fast-paced technical position requiring time management and technical skills to complete long-term projects along with shop floor support.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining repair processes across P&W’s Commercial and Military engine programs for static hardware and components. You will work with operators on the shop floor to maintain and improve current repair processes, driving to increase and improve yield while also working to decrease part turnaround time. Additionally, the Co-Op will be responsible for assisting with assessing the need for new capital equipment, machine tools and production tooling, as well as developing the business case justifications for and executing on capital procurement projects.

This role is required onsite in East Hartford, CT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain new repair processes from technical data and engine manuals.
  • Create detailed work instructions for shop floor employees by collaborating with Operations & Quality personnel.
  • Plan improvements for operator work environment with respect to ergonomics, EHS, and requirements of the technical data.
  • Drive communications with GSE, CTS, MTU and other various support function teams for the creation and maintenance of new technical data and technical information requests.
  • Work assignments to decrease processing time at various operations.
  • Support routine technical problems and requests from inspectors and machine operators.
  • Execute repair process standard work associated with new and current product development.
  • Work with external vendors and suppliers to procure new machines and technology to streamline/improve part processing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree from accredited institution
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A strong desire to learn and have the technical skill to drive operations, rapid problem solving and continuous improvement, and automation of equipment and process concepts for external candidates is highly desirable.
  • Work with all levels of management, shop personnel and partners. Speak confidently and tailor explanations and presentations to the audience as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, and strong customer focus.
  • Familiar with P&W Engine Manuals, Standard Practice Manuals and Technical Orders or equivalent is helpful.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes (Turning, Milling, Grinding, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Solumina, NX, AutoCAD, and Teamcenter is preferred.
  • EHRO is an FAA regulated facility and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment.
