Job Summary:

Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) operations is looking for a high-energy, dynamic team leader to fulfill a Business Unit Leader (BUL) role in our Commercial/Military IBR (Integrated Blade Rotor)  Business Unit. The BUL is responsible for driving exceptional performance in all key metrics: Quality, EHS, Cost Per Hour (CPH), Operating Labor Efficiency (OLE), Operating Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and Delivery. The individual will lead a group of production cell leaders that are responsible for supervising ~90 hourly employees, and partner with manufacturing engineers, and quality engineers, to redefine processes, execute on business requirements and deliver to customer expectations.

Moreover, qualified candidates will provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building. They will be able to communicate effectively, have strong strategic leadership and business acumen. They will excel at forward thinking and insure the entire unit is customer focused enabling it to meet the demands of a difficult manufacturing environment. Understanding and ultimately exceeding customer expectations is a strength you'll need in the BUM role. You are accountable for leading continuous process improvement opportunities, hourly staff planning, and critical resource allocation to ensure that business metrics are met. The BUM also assists in the development of strategic planning such as the development of forecasts, financial planning, training, and capital expenditures. Excellent organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills are important. And also, thrive in a team environment with high-performance expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading business unit P&L performance, developing strategies and executing goals/objectives to meet all aspects of the control tower including, MFA, safety, employee engagement, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Establish work schedules taking into account customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities
  • Work dedicatedly to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving cell goals.
  • Delegate effectively to develop personnel and balance the workload.
  • Establish standards and expectations for work effort and performance for subordinates.
  • Drive World-class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly.
  • Develop monthly delivery plans that align with customer needs and satisfy financial obligations
  • Oversight over supplier value stream

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors' Degree in Business, Technical discipline or equivalent experience and 10+ years prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and 8+ years’ experience.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering, ops, business or a technical field with 6+ years of aerospace ops experience
  • Leadership experience in an aerospace union environment or strong operational experience with both hourly and salaried employees.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles
