The Role

We are looking to fill the GEPICS System Coordinator within Global Supply Chain on the Production Control Team working from Oshawa Assembly location. GEPICS is an information control system central to material, production and quality processes throughout assembly. This position is responsible for execution of various administrative and operational tasks related the platform and is the point of contact for critical build data that drives a wide range of systems, processes, and functions. 

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Create, test and maintain trace component data flow – ensure critical part specific data is captured and stored for every vehicle

  • Monitor trace error reports, escalate and support problem solving activities 

  • Primary escalation point for team of 6 control room analysts for system related issues; responsible for containment, route cause, read across, further escalation 

  • Support GEPICS system enhancements; UAT and impact analysis, communication to plant stakeholders 

  • Establish / maintain data stream for 3rd party JIT vendors and value add assembly suppliers  

  • Create and maintain formats which generate build labels applied to vehicles at various within assembly 

  • Monitor order flow through production process, identify and communicate delays 

  • Support launch activities: build and format GEPICS reports for future model year pre-production orders, ensure correct data sent through GEPICS to receiving systems 

  • Execute batch jobs through mainframe application move or modify groups of orders 

  • Onboard new user to GEPICS; provide correct system access and administrative support to new users 

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) ​

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/ or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive or manufacturing environment

  • Quick learner, able to adapt quickly in production critical manufacturing environment 

  • Effective communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization 

  • Process oriented with focus on continuous improvement 

  • Extreme attention to detail 

  • Comfortable working with large data sets; ability to manipulate data 

  • General understanding of programming languages / computer coding 

  • Analytical skill, comfortable working with complex systems and processes 

  • Computer skills, MS office, proficiency in Excel 

 

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Knowledge of automotive supply chains and material 

  • Experience in automotive / manufacturing environment 

  • Familiarity with GM Systems and processes (GEPICS, MGO (Material Global Optimization), ECM (Engineering Change Management), GDPS (Global Product Description System)) 

  • IT experience; working knowledge of data flow between systems 

  • Experience with VBA, ability to write and modify macro’s 

  • Database support; experience developing and maintaining database
