The Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) Data Science and Technologies (DST) team leads interdisciplinary applied research and development (R&D) for all of RI&S with a focus on the Advanced Concept and Technology Product Line. R&D ranges from concept development and trade studies to rapid prototyping for customized engineering products and services. We develop solutions to solve customer needs, as well as plan future capabilities and technology roadmaps.

Raytheon is looking to fill a data science platform architect role in any of the following major locations:  Richardson, TX, McKinney, TX, Dulles, VA, El Segundo, CA, or Aurora, CO. The candidate will lead an interdisciplinary group of up to 20 data science, AIML, architecture, and edge computing professionals.  This role blends management, data science, big data analytics, and computer science among other fields.  Thus, the candidate must possess a balance of technical and management skills and expertise.

•Designs, develops, tests and supports software in support of big data objectives

Required Skills:
•12 years relevant experience
•Demonstrated leadership experience in pressured environments
•Demonstrated management experience of high-tech teams
•Technical knowledge of data science topics related to data analytics and algorithms, edge computing, data science/artificial intelligence/machine learning architectures, containerization, cloud deployment environments, and big data management
•Demonstrates up-to date expertise in software engineering practices and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of tools for the Machine Learning Platforms
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to present technical data and approaches to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI  U.S. Security Clearance

Desired Skills:
•Experience working on front-end, back-end, or full-stack development projects
•Knowledge of current developments and trends in statistics, machine learning, and big data
•Experience supporting new business initiatives, on-contract programs, and research and development projects
•Earned value analysis and reporting
•IRAD management experience
•Advanced degree strongly preferred.

Required Education (including Major):

•B.S. in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or similar degree.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $129,000 to $265,000; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
