WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Working as part of the Manufacturing Excellence Data & Analytics team, you will oversee the development of analytic products from start to finish to ensure they meet the customers’ requirements and deliver value within the Manufacturing function. 

The role requires the utilisation of a combination of Agile & Scrum methodologies to deliver products using an iterative approach. This role provides a unique opportunity to help define, support and grow the manufacturing analytic capability within JLR.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

As an analytic Product Owner, you will understand the customers’ requirements, developing these into product roadmaps and a product backlog for the development teams, collaborate with peers to ensure clear and robust sprint planning for the development teams, understand and coordinate dependencies to ensure alignment, and own your product backlog and refine features/user stories to ensure delivery teams are able to deliver to sprint deadlines. You will work with others on a day-to-day basis to help make decisions on what is in scope and provide input into functional decisions, coordinate & support product showcases with customers/stakeholders, and utilise a continuous improvement approach to product development to ensure that lessons learnt are captured and embedded into future products.

 

Basic understanding of Business Intelligence tools, Data Engineering, experience using collaboration software such as Confluence, and an understanding or experience of Manufacturing or a comparable industry, are a bonus.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

  • Experience of product ownership, project delivery and proficient at understanding and interpreting customer requirements

  • Experience in creation and management of the product roadmap and product backlog

  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and proven experience of utilising them

  • Experience in people management particularly squad management where you have no direct line management

  • Experience of iterative product development, incremental delivery of high quality user stories and how to deliver a minimum viable product (MVP)

  • Proven experience of stakeholder management at all levels and the ability to engage in difficult conversations

  • An adaptable, pragmatic approach and a curious mind, continually asking ‘why’ to uncover the real customer requirements

  • Experience using a project management tool such as JIRA
