Summary

The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center has an immediate opening for an Operations Supervisor (M3) to support out Military Engines overhaul and repair operations at our site in Columbus, GA.  The primary function of this position is to provide supervision, leadership, and support to the business, ensuring smooth and efficient operations on the shop floor throughout our Weekend Shift Operations (Alternate Work Week – AWW).   The successful candidate will motivate, coach, and encourage employees to optimize career development and personal satisfaction.  The person in this role will also promote excellent employee relations and empowerment of all assigned personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of assigned hourly workforce: (Time & attendance, time off, rewards, vouchering, training, communications, etc).

  • Define and Implement plans to support the objectives of the business.

  • Meet business metrics goals as defined for each cell (Cost, Quality, Delivery, EH&S).

  • Lead process improvement opportunities and implement root-cause corrective actions to ensure quality standards are maintained.

  • Meet the schedule and execute contingency plans.

  • Administer CEC’s policies and procedures to ensure compliance and equitable treatment for all employees.

  • Coach employees to develop a motivated, effective team and have current development plans and performance reviews.

  • Demonstrates commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures.

  • Conduct performance and skill review processes for Operations employees.

  • Provide leadership coverage across other shifts as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Logistics, Aerospace, Military or Aviation industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate and 7+ years of relevant industry experience; OR high school diploma and 9+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in STEM field; Engineering, Business or Supply Chain.

  • Experience in production, operations, manufacturing or engineering.

  • Leadership experience performing a supervisory, manager, or team-lead role

  • Aerospace or Aftermarket Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) industry experience

  • Continuous Improvement experience such as LEAN, CORE, ACE, or Six-Sigma training

  • Experience working with Solumina MES, Teamcenter, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve business goals.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
