Position Summary:
The International Group is part of the Collins Aerospace Customer and Account Management organization and was established to be the focal point for Collins Aerospace internationally. The Director International BD serves as the company’s Regional focal to lead cross Collins Aerospace business development activity in the China Region including COMAC and the Chinese based airlines. The International Group is responsible for enhancing Collins Aerospace local presence, advocating the company vision and branding, managing business partnerships, and corporate citizenship. Additionally, the International Group is responsible for providing insight to support the development and implementation of multi-SBU regional strategies focused on new growth and relationships with stakeholders.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Provide strategic counsel on regional/country political, economic, industrial, and stakeholder developments.
• Provide consolidated regional input and collaborate with Strategic Development to influence Collins Aerospace long range strategies.
• Collaborate with Pratt and Whitney to create an integrated view of Regional, and global government issues and developments.
• Collaborate with SBU leadership to provide guidance and insight on Regional issues and opportunities and to ensure regional BD activities are well aligned with SBU strategies.
• Influence, and advise on, key stakeholder policy directions, strategies and issues
• Advise on competitor regional/country strategies Ensure good corporate citizenship in their region by advising on policies and procedures that comply with the diverse laws, customs, and business
• Build and maintain relationships at the most senior levels with the airlines, the main players of the China industry and research stakeholders.
• Influence executive policy, regulations, legislation and procurement decisions
• Coordinate Collins Aerospace wide activities, including new and emerging business opportunities and corporate citizenship programs
• Develop partnerships that benefit Collins Aerospace customers and business partners as well as international local economies
• Partner for mutual growth and prosperity, within each region/country, with local suppliers, universities, research talent, and charitable institutions
• Lead regional trade show presence strategy

Personal Characteristics:
The person should be a senior leader with a proven track record of success in the Aerospace industry. Specifically, the person should have:
• Stature and gravitas to navigate geopolitical landscape, build meaningful relationships with the main players in the Chinese industry.
• Experience to leverage stakeholder relationships to influence executive policy, regulation, legislation and stakeholder procurement decisions
• Leadership experience in creating and inspiring a vision for an organization and then marshaling the resources to achieve the vision.
• Leadership experience in developing a cross SBU collaborative team based approach to strategy, pursuit, and stakeholder relationship development.
• An ability to build commitment and enthusiasm for Collins Aerospace initiatives at multiple levels and across the strategic business units. Capable of building a strong internal network and winning support within a matrix environment.
• Culturally astute, appreciates differences and leverages those differences to build regional/country business development strategies
• Strategic vision with an ability to recognize trends and business opportunities and marshal resources to pursue them.
• Fosters a cross SBU organizational environment based on trusting, collaborative relationships and alliances to achieve business goals.
• Demonstrates understanding of the social, political and economic global trends. Makes the connection to how these trends impact the business and adjusts strategies appropriately.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience or advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years’ experience
• Solid experience in a highly regulated industry, especially aerospace; experience working in large organizations with a geographically dispersed workforce
• Strong business acumen and excellent strategic problem solving and financial skills
• Well organized with solid judgment; able to adjust to changing priorities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Leadership
• Demonstrated ability to build credibility with, interact with, and influence suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders; Ability to build strong relationships
• Customer oriented

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred
