Job Description Qualifications:

BGS – Government Training Engineering (GTE) is seeking a mid-level Systems Engineering Analysts for the Visuals Systems Engineering team. This opportunity steps into the future of developing and innovating designs for these vital devices and will be challenging, complex, and fast-paced. The selected engineer may interact regularly with pilots, test and operational squadrons, and the user community of the fighter and military aircrafts. This will include working in a development lab environment with a focus on Systems Engineering processes including requirements development and decomposition, integration, verification, and validation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates within a cross-functional team to reach decisions that are mutually acceptable to multiple engineering and support teams

  • Assess and interpret customer and stakeholder needs to decompose and develop subsystem requirements

  • Document requirements and tasks in Systems Engineering database tools (i.e., DOORS, Cameo)

  • Apply and improve systems engineering best practices in requirements definition and system architecture development, in a multi-disciplinary team for the design, development, integration and production of multiple training system products

  • Ensure interface requirements are clearly defined and communicated to relevant teams

  • Plan and execute integration activities and documentation for discrete deliverables to meet program requirements and timelines

  • Advises and participates in visual efforts for Hardware and Software Integration (HSI)

  • Define and perform appropriate validation and verification tests to ensure that the system meets the defined requirements

  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements for management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes

  • Delivers value to and through Functional Team(s) by applying Agile methodologies for team priorities and backlog

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects to ensure high quality delivery

  • Agile development experience, especially Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar methodologies

  • Experience using Jira and related toolsets

  • Experience working with Suppliers, Supply Chain, and Procurement

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DOD) contract language and estimating experience

  • 2+ years working with training devices

  • 2+ years working with visuals systems and equipment

  • Experience deriving system requirements from customer supplied requirements

  • Knowledge of visual systems for trainers

  • Knowledge of projectors and image generators

  • Experience developing scripts to automate processes

  • Experience developing or supporting network architectures

  • Experience integrating and troubleshooting aircrew training systems utilizing COTS computational systems with Microsoft Windows and/or Linux operating systems

  • Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE)

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
