Job Summary:

The Vanes Manufacturing Engineering organization within the Asheville site is seeking an experienced and motivated Product ME to help finalize the sequence of operations, oversee MRL/PPAP development activities and coordinate resolution of production/quality issues on assigned hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the sequence of operations for assigned parts. Drive completion of work instructions. Assist in FAI development and coordinate necessary approval documentation.
  • Organize and Lead PPAP/MRL development on assigned hardware. Drive actions to closure. Track Product Quality/Cost and identify improvements where opportunities exist.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and support continuous improvement.
  • Be the face of Manufacturing in discussions with Engineering on production related issues.
  • Provide technical help to Suppliers of part details, durable/perishable tools and consumables.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Technical Field with 8 years of experience in a Precision Machining environment or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.                                                                                     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of the Aerospace Industry and experience in Turbine Engine parts manufacturing.
  • Strong Project Engineering/Planning and Communication/Presentation skills are a must for this position.
