Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Value Stream Leader, Military Programs (Program Manager) who will serve as a “Business Owner” for assigned programs and the face of the organization to customers. Oversees overall operational performance and success. You will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Program Team (IPT) who are accountable to delivering results to the business and the Customer.

You will direct all program phases from inception through completion. You will interface with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion and manage the contract lifecycle, cost, risk, schedule, and performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. You will coordinate the negotiation, proposals, business plans, budgets, and contracts for programs and establish cost focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads programs to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets for programs under his/her responsibility and recommends appropriate adjustments.

  • Manages important vendors and develops milestones, program plans, schedules, and budgets for programs.

  • Identifies and manages risk to the program, Customer, and Business.

  • Consolidates and presents plans and progress reports to Leadership and the Customer.

  • Prepares and presents value-stream metrics/KPIs, progress, and results to Leadership and the Customer.

  • Supports annual strategic planning efforts for the business.

  • Guides continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.

  • Identifies and reacts to program problems and supports solutions, such as allocation of resources and changing contractual specifications.

  • Supports the development of new business growth strategies.

  • Coordinates responses to customer action items.

  • Prioritizes the use of all resources allocated to the program to ensure efficient use of resources.

  • Participates in and leads the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization's interests

  • Potential travel approximately 15-25% domestic and international

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Aerospace and Defense Program Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in landing gear or similar structural manufacturing environment

  • Experience working with large amounts of data, performing analysis, and drawing conclusions

  • Exposure to complex supply chain and manufacturing businesses.

  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders where there is little to no management oversight.

  • Experience in Government Contracting (DFAR)

  • Exposure to complex ERP & SAP systems
