We have an exciting onsite opportunity for a Validation Project Engineer! Pratt & Whitney is seeking a proactive, goal oriented, and detail focused Validation Project Engineer in Compression Systems Engineering. The selected candidate will provide leadership to the Fan & High Pressure Compressor Module team for Adaptive Military Engines. In this role you will be responsible for development module focused validation planning, execution, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead an Agile Scrum team and perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans
- Create and Manage validation plans aligned with requirements as well as test Job Requests, Test Instrumentation Requests, Validation/Verification Matrixes, ACI/Teardown activities and documentation, test reviews and reports
- Provide Test Support to Engines and Rigs as well as work closely with IPT members and authorities on part validation
- Coordinate with development assembly and test engineering organizations and communicate status and technical content to CIPT, upper Pratt & Whitney management, and external customers.
- Perform Control Account Manager duties for task: Track progress, identify and resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project budget and schedules to ensure smooth project operations.
- Mentor and help develop other Project Engineers on the team and actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Aerospace/ jet engine industry experience, previous gas turbine compressor experience and test environment/engine certification experience is highly desirable
- Experience with gas turbine engine fan and compressor hardware
- Experience in an IPT Leader role or similar task leadership position
- Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project, Dassian, Primavera, TJR/TIR database
- Experience in Agile Project Management, specifically Scrum. Experience working with Jira or Github software package.
- Demonstrated strong team and strategic leadership skills.
- Demonstrated exceptional customer focus.
- Demonstration of skills consistent with the Pratt & Whitney Leadership Operating Model.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations.
