Job Summary:

Hot Section Engineering is looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer to join its team as a Turbine Technology Integration Lead for the Advanced Engines turbine module. The Turbine Technology Integration Lead will be responsible for driving five new turbine technologies to production readiness.  The engineer is expected to drive the following technologies to production readiness; airfoil internal coat, GSAC – geometrically segmented abradable coating, advanced hole drill for airfoils, APCC – advanced passive clearance control, and HEX – heat exchanger production.  The engineer will plan and execute assigned tasks to ensure the all technologies achieve overall component goals. This role will include direct interfacing opportunities with engineering management, program management, suppliers and customers. You will be able to lead a diverse team of individuals to meet requirements and achieve goals. You should be technically proficient, communicate effectively and be customer focused to meet the bold demands of this Military engine program. Experience in design, manufacture, development, validation, entry into service and support of field service issues are preferred.

Key Responsibility:

  • Accountable to CIPT for driving turbine advanced technology components to TDR6.

  • Participate in Customer, SIPT, IPMT and Senior Management interaction and presentations.

  • Provide technical support for validation engine build and engine test activities.

  • Lead the IPT’s in management and closure of key technical risks / issues.

  • Lead the IPT’s through successful technical and program reviews.

  • Leading multi-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • 8+ years of experience in the aerospace industry or 5+ years with an advanced degree.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Security Clearance

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations and management.

  • Focus on results with the ability to drive projects to successful completion

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing and engineering presentations to all levels of engineering and program management

  • Airfoil machining concepts, understanding of airfoil coatings applications processes, and exposure to heat exchanger design.

  • Experience with turbine component design/development preferred

  • Exposure to “Agile” for project management
