Job Summary:
The Product Safety Certification validation is looking for a motivated, individual to manage multiple engine programs within Assembly and Test Engineering Organization. The Test engineer in the Assembly Team must possess a sufficient depth and diversity of skills in validation programs, assembly and instrumentation techniques in jet engine development, industrial relations, and overall leadership skills to manage multiple engine builds under the span of control in a high paced environment. The Test Engineer is responsible to ensure assembly operations readiness and flawless execution of test vehicle Plan, builds, teardowns, and inspections. The individual will interface with Component Integrated Product (CIPTs )and Systems engineers to ensure assembly requirements are being met on time and within budget, interface with assembly support groups or Development Operations (DO) group (Assembly Operation, Process Engineering, Tooling Services, Magic Shop, Clean Line, and Inspection), and lead assembly process improvement teams. The Test Engineer is the focal point within Assembly Operations for all assigned programs. Current Test Engineers activity includes Next Generation Product Family of engines for the BA, Neo, Embraer, and Irkut programs as well as advanced engine programs, operational commercial engine programs, and operational military engine programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the assembly cell in the Engine Integrated Product Team (EIPT).
- Comply assembly and teardown requirements.
- Create and manage the engine build schedule including instrumentation input.
- Responsible for meeting cost and schedule commitments for the assembly cell.
- Define assembly risks. Create and execute risk mitigation plans.
- Communicate assembly/disassembly requirements before, during and after the vehicle is assembled/disassembled.
- Day to day accountability and decision making during the assembly and teardown phases.
- Manage the BOM configuration.
- Gather and execute to certification requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or Project engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with the use of continuing improvement tools (ACE/CORE) to drive process improvements leading to increased customer satisfaction.
- Experience mentoring and able to lead a team with little or no outside direction.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Self-Motivated and Team Oriented.
- Familiarity with Personal Computer (PC) based system.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to new assignments and job scope.
- Experience in Team center and SAP.
