WHAT TO EXPECT

 

This role will be an opportunity for you to lead the integrated end to end planning and delivery of the prototype test assets to support the Design Verification activity for JLR vehicle programmes. As JLR increases its Digital Prototype and Testing activities, this role will be at the forefront of championing and deploying JLR’s strategy for less reliance on vehicles and more reliance on simulation and rigs to carryout Design Verification. 

 

This role will involve working with stakeholders and practise the Agile Methodology to collaborate and construct an integrated and optimised test plan to deliver robust product on time and budget. You will be working in a supportive team, with lots of opportunities for development as well as opportunities to work with various latest technologies which will support you in your role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Optimised prototype test plan, advocating the road to simulation & rigs JLR strategy, which leads to lesser physical testing time and quicker time to market.
  • Practise agile methodology to conduct the planning for each sprints and quarter according to programme deliverables and collaborate, cascade, monitor and showcase the progress of the tasks by end of each sprint.
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders to define and own the physical vehicle DV plan creation and execution, from kick-off to Job#1 for JLR programmes.
  • In conjunction with the virtual series team, you will champion the use of Virtual Methods and Rigs to reduce reliance upon prototype vehicles.
  • Manage the plan through the programme life cycle, proactively responding to challenges which could impact vehicle milestones and stakeholders DV plans. Escalating issues as required.
  • Define and manage prototype vehicle, tooling and consumables/spares budgets.
  • You will lead the Rigs and Test kits activities- creating the requirements list in conjunction with vehicle users, supporting financial approval reviews, and ensuring the route to order/ delivery meets DV timing, escalating as required.

 

What You’ll Need

 

  • We will want you to bring your leadership capabilities. There will be a requirement to organise and drive cross-functional teams to deliver Design Verification activities on time, and within budget to meet the required quality of event.
  • Experience of working in Agile and very good knowledge of JIRA tool.
  • Experience of validation (rig & vehicles) within key vehicle functions such as Chassis, Electric Powertrain or Vehicle Attributes.
  • Experience of project planning and delivery from to within the programme delivery process framework.
  • Excellent knowledge of whole vehicle systems, product design, requirements, attributes & verification.
  • Excellent PC skills such as MS Excel and other MS office tools especially with Planning tools.
