Collins Aerospace is looking for a Systems Engineer with a passion for engineering who will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing industry-leading avionics products. Our team develops the Onboard Maintenance System (OMS) which is a part of the Collins Aerospace state-of-the-art flight deck solution. As a key contributor of the OMS team, you will be developing and integrating system solutions and configurations for various projects.
This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Relocation assistance may be available.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and providing Onboard Maintenance System solutions to internal and external customers.
- Develops and manages complex aircraft configurations.
- Knows how to integrate and troubleshoot software and configuration on different platforms.
- Knows the technical aspects of the Onboard Maintenance System (software and configuration) and designs, implements and verifies project specific solutions.
- Uses development tools and follows processes and continuously looks for improvements.
- Responsible for the successful execution of one or more projects throughout the development life cycle (planning, development and certification).
- Coordinates and communicates with team members and engineers across different domains.
- Understands the certification aspects of the Onboard Maintenance System in order to successfully certify the product.
Qualifications you must have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- Desires to do system development and systems engineering.
- Enjoys working with people and is a great communicator.
- Be motivated and a self-starter.
- Quick learner and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects at once.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace industry experience is a plus
- Experience with networking technologies (i.e. Ethernet, TCP/IP, Wireshark) are desired.
- Integration experience is desired

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey.
