Collins Aerospace’s Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is looking for a Systems Engineering professional with a passion for problem solving and delivering solutions that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts across the enterprise.
As part of the Enterprise Engineering Team the candidate will support model-based system engineering capabilities. Independently, the incumbent will define, analyze, evaluate, develop, implement, integrate, test, and continuously evolve the DPLC competences as new methods and techniques emerge in collaboration with the strategic business units (SBUs), Digital Technologies and other corporate functions such as Operations, Legal, Finance and others as needed.
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform System Engineering activities including system definition, functional decomposition, requirements development, architectural development and analysis, design synthesis, system analysis, data modeling and architecture development, and test program development.
- Utilize digital engineering tool suites to enable the use of model-based best practices in design and development, acquisition, and system life cycle support.
- Complete system and process development for systems analysis, modeling and simulation techniques and methods.
- Support stakeholders and sponsors efforts in the application of MBSE to trade-space analysis, design, and acquisition.
- Conduct collaborations internally with multi-disciplined software and hardware development, integration, deployment and maintenance teams via meetings, technical exchanges, or programmatic reviews to convey system design, requirements, architecture, traceability, and other systems engineering responsibilities.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Polarion
- Experience with programming in MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or other programming language
- Knowledge of modern system software development processes
- Development experience in one or more of the following technical areas: Electromechanical Hardware, Software, Communications systems, Network and Infrastructure
- Awareness of Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices (prior experience not a requirement).
