JR10228401 System Engineer FCAS SatCom (d/f/m)
Mission of the Job
-
Lead the Satcom Workpackage of the FCAS Combat Cloud in a three national context (GE, F, ES)
-
Drive the Technology maturation required for the future FCAS Satcom concept for FCAS / Combat Cloud up to TRL6.
-
Build the link with other ADS SatCom projects
-
Work closely with the strategy and management teams as well as the engineering units to ensure alignment and synergies towards related projects and support growth opportunities

Your tasks and responsibilities
-
Technical project management in an agile framework (Scrum, SAFe)
-
Analysis and definition, dimensioning of airborne satellite communication systems, from link budgets to the requirements specification to the different subunits (antenna, RF, digital, software)

Close collaboration with simulation team to drive technology maturations
-
Analysis and evaluation of simulations of ad-hoc air-interfaces able to efficiently provide end-to- end in satellite communications for mission data distribution

Support the implementation of the specified signal processing algorithms providing the necessary information for finite arithmetic implementation of the algorithms

Contribute and drive the production of the relevant technical deliverables
Desired skills and qualifications
-
Educated to degree level in Communication Systems and Networking or equivalent
-
Knowledge of Satellite Communication Systems with understanding of SatCom aircraft implementation/integration would be a plus
-
Experienced in the conduction of multinational projects and in Agile project management methods (Scrum, SAFe)
-
Communication protocols including quality of service aspects, air interface techniques, upper layer techniques in IP and networking
-
Air interface Modelling and simulation of routing algorithms in Matlab/C++/Python
-
Telecommunication system analysis and dimensioning would be a plus
-
Several years of experience in aerospace or telecommunication industry and military operational background would be a plus
-
Experience of 5G/6G networks /communications would be a plus
-
Experience MBSE Tools (DOORS and CAMEO), Matlab/Simulink for communication system modelling, C++, Python and CAMEO is a plus
- Advanced English and German required
