Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Systems Engineer - Product Owner position within a classified program on our Aurora, CO campus.

As the Sr. Systems Engineer - Product Owner you will communicate and work closely with a highly motivated and dedicated team, including the Customer and other Product Owners in support of ground system development activities. In this role you will lead a multi-discipline team of engineers with planning, assigning, communicating status, providing technical direction, and leading & managing all Agile tasks across the team.

In addition, you will also be part of an Enterprise level, satellite command and control system using the latest in adapted DevOps processes and cloud architecture consisting of approximately 420 employees.  This Program replaces legacy GEOINT stovepipe systems built for individual missions with a system to optimize efficiencies at the Enterprise level.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Attend technical interchange meetings with team members and other Program personnel
  • Represent the organization in matters pertaining to the development of project activity
  • Provide status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks while meeting assigned deadlines. 

Work Location: This position is an onsite role at our Aurora, CO -Onsite Security Clearance:  

Security Clearance Required: An active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance is required prior to start date.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Basic Qualifications (Required): 

  • Product Owner experience
  • Experience with products releasability algorithms
  • Experience with the Atlassian resource suite, specifically: Jira and Confluence
  • Experience working in an Agile or DevOps development environment and being part of a highly integrated team working closely with SW, Integration and Verification teams
  • Experience in some or all systems engineering functions including operations concept development, system and product design, requirements management, technical risk management, interface definition and control
  • Experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with all levels of the organization, including Government Customer, IPT leadership, Technical Leads, Chief Engineers, and System Architects
  • Experience communicating status, issues, and resolution plans across all major stakeholders including Raytheon senior management, customers, and major subcontractors
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent project deliverables with competing deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Systems Engineering experience on a large government software development contract
  • Experience with complex satellite ground systems, particularly previous deployment of developed systems to ground station operations
  • Scrum Master experience
  • Current Product Owner certification
  • Experience working in a software development environment
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience in development of test architecture / framework
  • Systems Engineering process development and deployment experience
  • Experience overseeing and/or leading Systems Engineering teams
  • Experience with application lifecycle management tools/platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Cameo EA, and/or similar resources

Required Education and Experience:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Engineering, or related Technical field with minimum 5+ years' relevant or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations - OR
  • Advanced Degree in Technology, Engineering, or related Technical field with minimum 3+ years' relevant or equivalent experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
