This Sr. Systems Engineering position is in Display Products department which is part of the Avionics business unit of Collins Aerospace. Display Products is a Center of Excellence for flat panel display solutions across Collins Aerospace. This position involves development of display unit hardware and software for commercial and military primary flight and mission display applications.
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer that is ready to join our Systems Engineering team to aid in development of display solutions for our wide customer base. The candidate will develop products for commercial and military markets. This position provides the opportunity to work in a dynamic and evolving field of technology as well as build a professional network across Collins Aerospace. The candidate will interface with many departments outside Display Products including Program Management, Production Operations, Environmental Effects Engineering (EEE), and Technical Publications.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are critical for this position. Flexibility to adapt to the needs of our diverse customer base in various markets is required.
This position may be eligible for relocation.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Requirements capture, allocation, traceability, validation, and verification of requirements
- Lead Electromagnetic Interference and Environmental qualification testing to DO-160 and military standards
- Support teams of hardware, software, and systems engineers to develop, integrate and field display products
- Assist in developing and reviewing certification data for the FAA and customers
- Assist architects and system developers in the selecting and developing the right display solutions for on-going pursuits
- Support technical proposal preparation, compliance matrix development, and systems engineering bids
- Cost Account Management for Systems Engineering activities
- Some domestic and international travel is expected
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of relevant hardware, systems, or computer engineering experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
