Job Summary
Raytheon is seeking Sr Systems Engineer to join one of our Agile Development Teams and work in a collaborative, iterative development environment. The candidate will participate in full Agile processes including sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, demos and retrospectives to ensure products integrate with the ground segment and value is provided to the customer and program targets and goals are met. They will also work to create well written stories that are development ready and will work with the team to maintain effective story point estimation. The Sr Systems Engineer will also support ground system development activities as well as the definition of operations concepts and procedure planning and development.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Working in an Agile or DevOps development environment, being part of a highly integrated team working closely with software, integration and verification teams developing and maintaining requirements, algorithm description documents and user manuals

Performing functional decomposition of requirements to meet system and domain level needs

Participating in system engineering artifact reviews

Assist in defining external and internal interfaces

Maintaining assigned documents in accordance with established systems engineering and configuration management procedures

Providing clarification of requirements to the software development team

Supporting the SEIT team in preparation and conduct of program reviews

Security Clearance: An Active TS/SCI Security Clearance

Basic Qualifications:
-
Systems engineering lifecycle experience
-
Knowledge of systems engineering roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements administration, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
-
Experience working in an Agile or DevOps development environment
-
Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of program, customers, and technical leads (IPTs, chief engineers, architects)
-
Ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines
-
Ability to the identify, manage, and mitigate technical risk
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
-
Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Systems Engineering experience on a large government software development contract.
-
Experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner
-
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
-
Experience in systems engineering process development and deployment.

Experience with application lifecycle management tools/platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Azure Devops, Cameo EA or similar resources
Education and Experience Requirements:
5 years of relevant experience, typically with a Bachelor's degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics); OR
3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
