Job Summary:

RTX is looking for an individual with a track record in Microwave RF design, analysis, layout & testing to work with our team of experts within the Airborne Radar Electronics Receiver / Exciter Hardware Design Group. You will work with a talented team on the development of next generation Receiver / Exciter technologies & transition to provide production support for Airborne Radar designs that go into Production.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • A successful candidate is someone who is self-motivated, possess experience working in a fast moving, high-octane environment with a track record of prior success in detailed design, analysis, test, trade studies, modelling /simulation of Microwave RF circuits, Radio Frequency Assemblies (RFAs), Microwave Integrated Circuits (MICs), Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMAs), Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), RF Special Test Equipment (STE) & Production support. The candidate must be experienced using modelling tools/SW, CAD tools, mentor Xpedition, PI/SI Analysis, as well as lab equipment.
  • Design, analysis, layout & test experience in high frequency circuits ranging from baseband to millimeter wave is required. Module and Unit level experience along with a broad understanding of Receiver / Exciters and Systems level requirements is highly desirable.
  • The candidate will be responsible for helping the team design and perform trades of various component selections including amplifiers, mixers, switches, resistors, diodes, as well as filters. They will design and conduct simulations in linear and EM simulators, develop schematics and layouts, perform analysis, conduct testing and integration, and contribute towards Special Test equipment design (including validation & certification). The successful candidate is expected to provide technical support of the product from development through production & post production phases.
  • The successful candidate must be also capable of progressing from a support role to a REA (Responsible Engineering Authority) role. In this role, the successful candidate will coordinate with test & production engineers/technicians, be capable of supporting production schedules/Line-of-Balance needs, resolve production issues & report status of production programs to higher management.
  • The individual should possess a pro-active approach to problem solving, collaborate well, and be prepared to work with a focused team with an innovative mindset. The candidate must have a drive to learn and push the boundaries of technology.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree and a minimum of 5 years of related technical experience in Microwave RF circuits
  • Demonstrated hands on experience in the design, analysis (including Power Integrity & Signal Integrity), development, bread‐boarding, troubleshooting, and testing of Microwave RF circuits
  • Experience in software tools including: Keysight ADS, National Instruments AWR Microwave Office, Sonnet EM, Ansys HFSS, Mentor eXpedition, AutoCAD or comparable
  • Experience in lab equipment including Special Test Equipment, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Power Meters
  • An active US security clearance (Minimum DoD Secret Clearance) is required on day one, with the ability to obtain SAP shortly after joining the team. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Partial telecommuting allowed.  Expected to be on site or at designated suppliers regularly for hardware testing, classified discussions, and mentorship with senior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in system’s level software tools including Keysight Genesys or SystemVue
  • Experience with DOORS and/or CAMEO Requirements tool
  • Familiarity with SYSML/UML/DODAF
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 176,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
