Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) is currently seeking a Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer at our McKinney, TX location. The successful candidate will work within the Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) Mission Assurance organization.
This position is part-time telecommuting. The effective candidate will have the ability to work remote and, in the office, as needed and defined by the business need.
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- The successful candidate will plan and administer Quality Systems through design, development, production and maintenance phases on defense programs.
- Provide quality assurance management and audit/inspection services on a variety of US Government and other contracts.
- Identify and implement Quality requirements applicable to major programs and/or manufacturing areas.
- Support transition of new designs to production.
- Provide Quality Engineering support to engineering laboratories and factory operations with minimum supervision.
- Participate in multi-functional team process improvement activities using techniques employed in Raytheon Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control.
- Monitor Product and Process quality through area evaluation and quality metrics.
- Document and report findings.
- Provide Quality technical support for hardware and/or Integrated Product Team and/or Manufacturing management, suppliers and internal/external customers.
- Participate in peer review of hardware and software work products including specifications, test plans and software code.
U.S. Citizenship required, as the candidate must have the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ working experience as a Quality Engineer
- Working experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Working knowledge with hardware and software development processes (requirements, design, coding and testing), systems engineering methodologies and test techniques.
- Experience working as a part of multi-disciplined teams
- Ability to work with engineers and other Integrated Product Team (IPT) members to develop practical solutions to complex problems
- Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills
- Familiar with desktop computing and application programs (Word, Excel, Power point, etc.)
- Must be able to multi-task in a dynamic environment
Desired Skills
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification
- Experience with Statistical analysis
- Experience with Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)/ Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) techniques
- Experience with Failure Review and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
- Knowledge of Six Sigma Techniques
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS911 Quality Management Systems
- Familiarity with SEI Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI)
- Experience with quality metrics (performance measuring and trend analysis)
- Military experience is a plus
Education
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
