Job Summary:
The candidate will work individually and on engineering teams developing mechanical/dimensional calibration methods, systems, and procedures, analyzing measurement systems and error sources, and contributing to continuous improvement of calibration processes in the Metrology Department. Some direct mentoring and management oversight is expected. 

This position is an onsite role.

  

Responsibilities to Anticipate: 

Perform calibrations and provide technical support for calibration technicians in the areas of high precision Electrical measurement, including RF systems, AC/DC voltage and measurement, Resistance, Capacitance, and Inductance, and ESD devices 

Develop and update written calibration procedures, calibration laboratory methods, processes, and capabilities 

Manage equipment calibration cycles in the lab

Work with vendors to arrange calibrations not supported in the lab

Provide support for auditing organizations evaluating the lab and quality management system

  

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience in a design, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications 
  • Understanding and interpretation of written calibration procedures and calibration equipment manuals 
  • Ability to write and update calibration procedures and work with team members to develop new procedures
  • Problem solving, good oral and written communication, and the ability to work well in a dynamic environment  
  • Experience with Fluke Metcal calibration software
  • Familiarity with National Instruments NI Max software
  • Experience in calibrating various RF devices, digital multimeters, multiproduct calibrators, oscilloscopes, and ESD devices.
  • Familiarity of Six Sigma methods for laboratory environments
  • Knowledge of calibration quality standards including ISO17025: and Z540.1
