Job Summary:

As Material Program Manager (MPM) Sr. Manager, you’re accountable for the Supply Chain proposal efforts across Standard Missile 3 (SM3) programs. This is a unique opportunity to shape and execute to a new combined bid and procurement strategy for the Missile Defense Agency customer. The MPM Sr. Manager reports directly into the product area associate director and may have up to two (2) direct reports. This role is great for an up-and-coming leader who is interested in strategic growth, proposal, and people management experience.

 

The successful candidate is a self-starter capable of strategic vision, with the ability to guarantee execution to program and functional objectives.  In this matrixed environment, you will be accountable for proposal strategy through completion of Gate 4. This includes sole source justifications, DD254 facilitation, EX/IM planning, and the gathering of entrance criteria needed to kick off the requests for proposals (RFPs) to the procurement teams, pricing approvals, and much more. Once the contract is awarded, you will then work with the MPM lead responsible to transition into a production execution environment during the Gate 5 process.

 

The position is fully Remote.

 

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Oversight of GSC proposal execution performance and reporting

  • Support program proposal kickoffs and strategy development

  • Develop and execute to supply chain proposal strategy and plans (as applicable)

  • Facilitate alignment with MPM lead(s) responsible for execution

  • Generate and/or collect necessary documentation for successful kickoff

  • Support RFP kickoffs with subcontract managers

  • Support RFP alignment reviews with suppliers

  • Identify/Generate material R&Os in alignment with bid posture

  • Approve bid pricing including decrements and budget challenges

  • Collaborate with execution partners for support as needed

  • Monitor performance metrics and proactively act to address program and functional issues

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience

  • Experience using manufacturing or enterprise planning tools (SAP/PRISM) 

  • Commitment to earning Material Program Management certification within 1 year  

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain or similar 

  • Experience using manufacturing or enterprise planning tools (Kinaxis) 

  • Prior work experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel analysis

  • Strong executive presence and reporting skills 

  • Proposal management and estimating

  • Issue and conflict management

  • Material program management 

  • Experiencing initiating/driving affordability projects

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
