Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer for the F135 Fan Module team. The job entails supporting new part designs and improving existing designs. Tasks could include participation in Engineering Changes (EC’s) and providing shop, vendor, and test support as needed. Design execution will utilize UG NX solid modeling as well as other modeling and analysis tools. The Designer will be expected to act as part of an Integrated Product Team and coordinate with supporting disciplines such as Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer & Secondary Flow, Structures, Engineering Dynamics & Loads, Manufacturing and foreign partners. Good communication skills are necessary both written and verbal. Occasional travel may be required, local and overnight.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Teamcenter, UG NX, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance
  • Candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of hardware, blueprints, and manufacturing methods.
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)
