Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world’s most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking talented engineers to join our organization within Pratt & Whitney’s Project Engineering discipline.

The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team, execute engineering standard work, and drive tasks to meet program milestones. This is a unique opportunity for an emerging professional to work on the best engines in the world.

As an engineer on the GSE Military Engine Project Engineering team, you will work closely with the full cross functional team inclusive of design, structures, the part family leads, tooling and validation to deliver repair capability to our military customers. Repair activity within the group spans the F135, F119 and F100/OME platforms and the project engineer has core responsibility for planning, scheduling and coordination of the repair to a committed timeline.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop Level 3 schedules and execute repair activity to committed timelines.
  • Interact with full cross-functional team, including CIPT and CAIPT’s, to develop repairs that meet our quality standards and our customer needs.
  • Lead weekly module level reviews to identify current status, next steps, risks to schedule and abatement activity.
  • Prepare and present at Senior Management repair status meetings to update progress against plan and commitments. Support customer repair status reviews, preparing and presenting

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact at all levels of the organization and across functions.
  • Ability to create and manage to a schedule.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to identify risks and develop abatement plans/actions.
  • Exercise good judgement with professional maturity
  • Knowledge of repair process a plus.
  • US Person Status required due to government contract

Educational Requirements:

Candidates must have a BS or MS degree in Engineering. Aerospace or Mechanical backgrounds are preferred with 5-7 years of related engineering experience.

About Our Organization:

The Military Project, Logistics, & Resource Team is comprised of aligned disciplines providing program management and repair development support from the identification of required repairs through delivery to the customer for the full range of military engines from the TF33 through the F135. The Logistics team works closely with the CAIPT, ELMT, Program Managers, and the customers to identify repair development opportunities for which they define the ground rules to initiate all repair development tasks. The Project team provides the project management of all tasks, working along with Design, Structures, Part Family Leads, Tooling, and Validation, to ensure repairs are delivered which meet our quality standards and support our customers' needs. The Resource team is responsible for all Earned Value Management activities including programs' budgets, manpower, and cost and schedule performance. Our direct team members are located in East Hartford, CT with extended team members located in Oklahoma City, OK (supporting the Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force base) and Aguadilla, PR at the Pratt & Whitney Puerto Rico site.
