The Raytheon Operations Excellence team is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and creative team member to assist development programs while executing the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:

This person will be working closely with development programs in multiple locations across the US and will report to the Operations Excellence NPI lead.

The sites supported include El Segundo (CA), McKinney (TX), Forest (MS), and Goleta (CA), in addition to close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Mission Assurance functions from other Raytheon locations.

Supporting development programs with an emphasis on new product introduction and transition of products into manufacturing

Designing and executing strategic plans

Understanding and applying data metrics and visualization skills

Exhibiting excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Possessing a creative and original mindset
-
Ability to engage, partner, and facilitate across a wide range of stakeholders across factory, P&L, and functional organizations while managing by impact and influence (this position does not have direct reports)

This person will be a key contributor to critical product development activities across a portfolio of technology development and manufacturing programs within our defense and aerospace sector. Support of the NPI process will begin at product inception, carry through development, and culminate in a successful new product introduction into our factories and suppliers.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Typically requires 10 years of experience and a Bachelors Degree or 7 years of experience with an Advanced Degree
-
10 years of program and factory experience in transition to build/New Production Introduction (NPI) starting in the product development phases
-
Experience in creating and documenting strategic plans
-
Understanding of Technology Readiness Levels/Manufacturing Readiness Levels (TRL/MRL)
-
Experience with Risk and Opportunity identification
-
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires a DoD Security Clearance as of Day 1 of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Facilitating communication between Engineering, Operations, Quality, programs and suppliers
-
Understanding of the product development lifecycle, including concept and requirements development through design, manufacturing, and production testing
-
Understanding of manufacturing automation
-
Experience in guiding teams across functions, and supporting via impact and influence (teams that are not direct reports)
-
Ability to be a closer – cultivate tasks from initiation to closure with minimal oversight
-
Experience working in a manufacturing environment for complex technical Aerospace and Defense products
-
Understanding of the DoD acquisition process related to Research, development and transition into programs of record
-
Familiarity with Industry 4.0 / Smart Factory concepts, Digital Manufacturing Simulation

Understanding of Lean principles and terminology (including 3P), Six Sigma, agile scrum
-
Understanding the manufacturing floor during troubleshooting and sustainment
-
Experience with leading Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs).

Understanding of production test verticality, coverage, and reduction activities
-
Understanding of product design for automation and/or sustainment
-
Experience defining and flowing Manufacturing requirements to the product design team
-
Experience or education in systems engineering and application to manufacturing systems
-
Earned value certification

Understanding of AS6500, AS9145 (APQP), Design for X, and/or PPAP
